Aimee has been making art for as long as she can remember. Following graduation from the University of San Francisco and San Francisco's Academy of Art in 1992, she moved to Colorado and worked as a Freelance Graphic Designer. Marriage to her husband, Michael, and a growing family led to their taking on the designing and building of a 1300 sq.ft. addition to their home, a huge undertaking which then led to their own construction business and further inspired Aimee to design and build her first of many mosaic tables and stained glass windows. She has been hooked ever since to home-improvement, mosaic and stained glass, and especially to Colorado, where the sun shines brightly nearly every day of the year. Since then she has continued to develop her skills in mosaic and stained glass, graphic design, mixed media assemblage and mural painting. Currently, she is working on her 'Buffalo Project' where she has found the American bison to be a wonderful muse for making art about Colorado and the folks who live there. Her work will be showing at Arts Longmont Gallery in downtown Longmont from 7/14-8/26 in their EcoCreations 8 exhibition, featuring artists who look beyond traditional art materials and focus on re-cycled materials and found objects, where her piece, Study in Resilience III won first place! You can also visit her murals at the Park Hill, Eugene Fields, and Valdez Perry branches of the Denver Public Library.
